NerdWallet, the popular personal finance company, offers its opinion of the best credit card values for the age of streaming subscriptions.
In an article this week the company points out that not only does binging on Netflix or assembling a Spotify playlist earn rewards, video and music streaming services are a hot bonus category among credit card issuers as media consumption patterns change.
Of course, rewards for streaming alone may not add up to much and aren’t the sole reason to choose a card, NerdWallet says. A monthly Hulu subscription, for example, is comparatively small to weekly groceries. But, it says, streaming can be a nice bonus category to have.
NerdWallet cites a few favorite cards offering rewards for streaming:
Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express. Offers 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions.
Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card. Offers three points per $1 spent on eligible streaming services (Apple Music, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Sirius XM Radio and Spotify Premium).
U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card. Five percent cash back on qualifying services including Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora and Sirius XM.
